Hitchin town centre was the scene of an collision at the weekend.

Police were called at 540pm on Saturday (March 18) to report a road traffic collision on Hermitage Road, Hitchin.

A blue Peugeot 108 and a black Nissan Qashqai had been in collision, while a traffic light was also struck during the incident.

Herts Police confirmed to Hitchin Nub News: "Officers, the East of England Ambulance Service and Herts Fire & Rescue Service attended.

"One person was treated for a head injury, which was not thought to be serious. The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and vehicles recovered. The road was re-opened around 620pm."
