Bim Afolami MP visits Hitchin teen charity GRIT to learn about their work

Hitchin MP Bim Afolami has been visiting a local Hitchin charity to hear more about how they are supporting young people.

The Member of Parliament visited the offices of Growing Resilience in Teens (GRIT) recently to meet with their Health and Wellbeing Coaches to hear about their work and to talk about how they could be used as a model to support young people in other areas.

Mr Afolami then visited GRIT again a few days later to experience one of their boxing sessions for himself.

Bim Afolami MP said: "We are fortunate to have great charities like GRIT in Hitchin, doing some really incredible work supporting young people.

"It was great to visit them to meet their Health and Wellbeing Coaches and to experience first-hand one of the boxing sessions that they put on.

"Supporting local young people is a priority for me – as I know it is for the Government as a whole. I will continue to do everything I can to support brilliant charities like GRIT as they work to do just that."

Dr. Louise Randall, founder of GRIT said: "GRIT is very grateful for the ongoing support that we have received from Bim from day 1.

"Now in our sixth year, the service that GRIT provides to young people is in high demand and we are seeing fantastic results."
