Hitchin set to bask in balmy temperatures this week as heatwave approaches

There will be sunny intervals in Hitchin today, Tuesday (June 14) with highs of 24C as we gear up for a dry, hot week ahead.

Temperatures are set to hit 29C by Friday as a June heatwave approaches at the weekend - with our areas set to roast in temperatures higher than many continental hotspots.

The Met Office said: "After a cool start in places, it will be a fine and dry day, with lengthy spells of sunshine. Feeling much warmer than on Monday, with light winds. Maximum temperature 24C."
