Hitchin is set to be hotter than Ibiza over the coming days with temperatures set to hit 21C.

Following a weekend that saw the hottest day since last October our town and surrounding areas are expected to bask in warm weather until at least Saturday.

The Met Office have said that temperatures could reach 21C, hotter than the Balearics, Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon.

The warm front we are currently experiencing is due to high pressure to the east, which means it will be largely dry with settled spells of prolonged sunshine. Perfect for Hitchin sunseekers on Windmill Hill and open areas such as Bancroft.

Temperatures are around five to seven degrees warmer than they are normally at this time of year, with the balmy conditions expected to last until the weekend.
