Hitchin is getting ready to shine once again as the town gears up for its much-loved Christmas Tree Lights Switch-On, taking place later this month.

The festive favourite — organised by Visit Hitchin — promises a full day of live entertainment, local talent and seasonal cheer, culminating in the big moment when Father Christmas himself will flick the switch to light up Hitchin's town centre.

The event will run throughout the day with a packed programme of performances on the Market Place stage, featuring a mix of choirs, theatre groups, and local musicians.

Event organiser Visit Hitchin said preparations are well underway, adding that the atmosphere in town is already turning festive. "We're delighted that the Father Christmas will be joining us this year to lead the parade and officially switch on the Christmas Tree lights," they said.

The annual event is one of the highlights of Hitchin's festive calendar, drawing hundreds of visitors to the Market Place and surrounding streets to enjoy live music, food, shopping and community spirit.
