HITCHIN: Save the date for a fantastic food event that makes yo0ur mouth water.

We're talking about the brilliant Hitchin Street Food Monthly of course - which returns to the town centre soon.

The event transforms spaces in Hitchin to bring you top notch grub, drinks and entertainment.

The acclaimed outdoor event that features the best scratch cooked food in our area, is returning to Hitchin for the first time in 2022.

Organisers said: "We're back with a new look double helping.

"Our first lineup for 2022 serves up a lip-tingling selection of traders to welcome you back!"

The event will have a family friendly opening time of 4pm, with all dietary needs catered for, including: meat, veggie, vegan and gluten free options, booze, soft drinks and a live DJ.

Entry to Hitchin Street Food Monthly on Thursday, April 7, will be free, with the event running from 4pm to 9pm.

There will be hand sanitisers on every stall, with organisers asking that you please refrain from attending if you do have Covid. They also ask people to perform a lateral flow test before attending.

"We won't be checking this we just ask you to act responsibly and respectfully," they say, adding: "We can't guarantee seating or tables but feel free to bring a camp chair.

"Cash and cards will be accepted with most traders, cash will be quicker though and there's plenty of ATM's near the square."[.I]
