HITCHIN: A rising star in music circles is playing in town tonight [Thursday, November 4].

Singer/songwriter Rowan Scourfield will be playing live at the Coopers Arms this evening.

Priory School pupil Rowan is a talented young singer songwriter and has already been writing songs for six years. He is also a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, drums and bass.

Rowan's 2020 album racked up 3,000 streams on Spotify alone and was featured on BBC Look East, BBC Introducing Live and the online festival "The Future Is Now".

A track from the album was included on Aldora Britain Records compilation album "Symphonies For A Modern Society".

There will also be a live performance from the talented Lyra Smith, with free entry at the popular Hitchin location which promotes local musical talent.

Lyra kicks things off at 830pm before Rowan, who's debut album came out last year, is on from 945pm.
