'Don't let Amazon steal Christmas and destroy our town this year' is the message from Hitchin's Tom Hardy.

As we gear up for Lockdown 2.0 our hard-working Hitchin town centre boss Tom has issued a rallying cry.

With Hitchin jam-packed with brilliant independent shops and businesses, if you're planning to pick up a few things ahead of the national shutdown BID boss Tom is urging last-minute shoppers to buy local and avoid online retailers such as Amazon.

He said: "Please do all you can to buy from our local businesses.

"It might be a little bit more effort but you'll be supporting Hitchin and helping secure it future."
