Calling all 'Hitchin Henderson's!'
Hitchin Town Youth FC are looking for new players – and they want YOU.
The town's largest youth football club are on the hunt for new players including all you budding Jordan Henderson's out there.
The club offer FA Charter Standard youth football and are keen to hear from you.
As a proud member of the Football Writers' Association, Hitchin Nub News' Layth Yousif knows a decent player when he sees one.
Despite being a huge Arsenal supporter, when in the press box from Top Field to the Nou Camp he prides himself on being a truly impartial judge of the our beautiful game – and readily admits he voted for Liverpool captain Henderson for the FWA's recent player of the season – narrowly pipping Kevin De Bruyne, Virgil van Dijk and Adama Traore among a raft of others, to the highly-prestigious award.
But Hitchin youth are looking for Henderson's and De Bruyne's of their own - as plans for the new season get underway.
If you're a youngster looking to play the most popular sport in the world, then why not get in touch with an relevant age group side affiliated to the Canaries of Top Field.
So if you're 'Hitchin's Henderson' and would like to play football then there are various teams that would love to have you on board.
For example, Hitchin Town U15 EJA side are looking for news players to add to their team, especially creative midfield types [Ed's note: aren't we all] then you are encouraged to get in touch with Marc on 07378 393599 or visit their website www.hitchintownyouthfc/EJA
In addition, their new U11 side, the Hornets, have recently been looking for a goalkeeper. The slot is applicable for boys/girls in Year 5/6 at school.

Academy secretary, Geoff Pollard, who is a well-respected part of the club's renowned youth set up, told Hitchin Nub News: "We've been lucky to have had some brilliant youth teams representing the yellow and green of Hitchin over the years.
"I watched our wonderful U11 Hornets at the weekend – our newest side played great football.
"But the fact is, we're still looking for new players at all levels – so if you want to join a great club, you'll be warmly welcomed by us all."
Hitchin Hornets U13s are looking for new players as well.
So if you are U13 and have experience of playing in the mid-Herts league – or a similar standard of football then why not contact the club by emailing Geoff at secretary@hitchintownyouthfc .com and go for a trial at one of Hitchin's most talented teams.

Geoff also wanted to highlight the Town's youth U9 Warrirors side who played their first match since prior to lockdown over the weekend.
