Hitchin weather: A mixed bag of scattered showers and September sunshine in our area

Following a week of balmy weather in Hitchin and North Herts, we start the week with a mixed bag.

We've already experienced heavy rain in some areas in and around our town this morning [Monday, September, 26] and are set for a mixture of sunshine and scattered blustery showers.

Showers could be heavy in places, with the occasional rumble of thunder. Overall a cooler day with highs of 15°C.

This evening will see a mix of clear skies and the odd shower at first.

Into Tuesday, cloud will begin to build from the southwest, and showers will become more frequent.

Tuesday morning will see it turn mostly cloudy, with spells of showery, heavy rain moving in throughout the day. There may be some brief brighter interludes between rain and areas of cloud.

Looking towards the rest of the week, it will be staying cooler and fresher as low pressure continues to dominate.

Wednesday will have sunshine, but also a few sharp scattered showers.

Thursday appears set for plenty of cloud while feeling blustery, with heavy rain moving in throughout the day.

Staying windy on Friday, with a chance of longer and more persistent spells of rain.
