Man charged with multiple offences after driving dangerously on a motorbike through Hitchin - Herts Police Dog Unit chase led to two arrests.

A man who was arrested in Little Wymondley on Wednesday 2 November has been charged with multiple offences. 

Keelan Dickens, aged 24, of Hepburn Court, South Mimms, was arrested on farmland near Little Wymondley after members of the public called police to report concerns of a man driving dangerously on a motorbike through Hitchin.  

Operation Scorpion officers from North Herts, with assistance from the Joint Protective Service Roads Policing Unit and the Dog Unit immediately pursued the motorcyclist, who was riding with a passenger, and made two arrests.  

Dickens has been charged with the following offences:  

Driving otherwise in accordance with a license 

Driving without insurance 

Driving without due care and attention 

Possession of cannabis 

An investigation into theft of a motor vehicle is ongoing and a female passenger was released under investigation.  

PC Ricky Carter, from the Operation Scorpion Team, said: "I want to express my thanks to the members of public who reported their concerns to us. I encourage anyone who has concerns or spots suspicious behaviour to please call 999."
