Witnesses sought following an altercation in Stevenage

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident which took place in Stevenage last night (13 August).

Officers were called to Ashbottom Close just before 10pm by the ambulance service following an altercation involving a large number of people. A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Five people have been arrested.

Detective Sergeant Ben Dixon is investigating and said: "Our enquiries are on-going, but I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened or who has any information about events leading up to the incident to please contact us."
