Letchworth's much-loved festive ice skating rink returns this Saturday, with bookings open for one of the area's most popular winter attractions.

Now in its sixth consecutive year, the terrace of the Letchworth Lido has once again been transformed into a real ice rink, complete with a covered marquee to ensure a smooth skating experience whatever the weather.

Final preparations are now complete ahead of opening on Saturday 22 November 2025, with the rink set to operate right through to Sunday 11 January 2026, offering a full festive season of fun on the ice.

All the much-loved sessions from previous years are returning, including quiet sessions suitable for individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), under-5s skating, lively disco sessions and festive Skating with Santa events.

 New for 2025, visitors can enjoy an expanded hot food menu featuring seasonal favourites, as well as birthday party packages. 

Sarah Wright, General Manager at Letchworth Lido, said: "We're thrilled to bring the ice rink back to Letchworth for another fantastic winter season. It's become such a highlight for the community, and this year we're adding even more reasons to visit, from our delicious new food menu to the chance to celebrate birthdays on the ice. 

"Ice skating is a brilliant way for families and friends to have fun and stay active over the winter months, and with sessions for all ages and abilities, there really is something for everyone."

It's such a wonderful community tradition and bring lots of joy in the run up to Christmas. Whether you're skating with little ones, enjoying disco sessions, or taking part in a Skating with Santa event, there's something magical for everyone to enjoy".

The rink, operated by Everyone Active in partnership with North Herts Council, can accommodate up to 100 skaters at a time and is once again expected to draw large numbers throughout the festive season.

During the ice rink season, the lido will remain closed and restricted from public access.
