Local elections are taking place in North Herts and Stevenage on Thursday, May 4.

Poll cards are landing on doormats throughout the two districts, which feature information about residents' assigned polling places and their wards.

A third of seats are up for election across both authority areas.

In Stevenage, there is a contest in every single ward.

In North Herts, voters in most wards will have the opportunity to cast their vote.

But there is no vote taking place in Baldock East, Codicote, Hitchin Oughton, Hitchin Priory, Kimpton, Knebworth, Letchworth East and Letchworth Wilbury, where elections will take place in 2024.

Voters will have to show an accepted form of ID before making their selection this year.

Accepted ID includes passports, drivers' licences and blue badges, and the free Voter Authority Certificate.
