Make a difference through volunteering at the Virtual Volunteer Fair - find out more
Individual gestures of kindness make a positive impact on the community around you, and what better way to express kindness than volunteering for a cause you believe in?
Volunteering not only benefits organisations and those who receive the support, but volunteers can greatly benefit too through personal growth, community impact, and professional development by meeting new people, learning new skills, and gaining experience.
Finding a suitable volunteering role can be challenging, but GoVolHerts make this process simple, by providing a free online platform to easily search volunteering opportunities in Hertfordshire.
Volunteer Sara-Jane enjoyed her time volunteering with Letchworth's Garden House Hospice Care recently.
She says "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and am glad that I decided to reach out.
"If you are thinking about volunteering, then give it a go, as you will find nothing but kindness, support and a good giggle here."
With opportunities ranging from IT skills, e-commerce jewellery specialist, tour hosts, sports and leisure coaching, health walks facilitator and more traditional roles such as charity shop assistants, befrienders and administration volunteers, there is something for everyone.
Tatiana Campos, Volunteering Development Lead at GoVolHerts explained: "We're inviting everyone to attend our Virtual Volunteer Fair, from the comfort of their own home or office.
"There will be lots of information from 10 local organisations and an opportunity to ask questions directly to volunteer managers across the county.
"Our website has over 500 volunteering opportunities available and 320 organisations registered, so this event could be the start of a volunteering journey for many people."
The free online Virtual Volunteer Fair, hosted by GoVolHerts is on Wednesday, February 28, from 12pm – 2pm.
Registration is simple, complete the google form: https://forms.gle/Dtb9ByYzXNefcWZs9 or email the team on [email protected].
Mini-talks and presentations are by North Herts & Stevenage Community Transport Service, Isabel Hospice, Celtic Harmony Camp, Hertfordshire Health Walks, Caudwell Youth, Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Family Action, The Theatre Shed, St John Ambulance and Welwyn and Hatfield CVS.
