Step into spring with the reopening of the council run splash parks across North Herts and café kiosks in Hitchin and Letchworth.

The district's four splash parks are due to open every day, from 10am to 6pm, from Saturday 3 May until Sunday 7 September:

Alan North, Greenspace Service Manager at North Herts Council, said: "We're excited to be coming into the splashpad season, we know they are popular throughout the district. We just hope we keep this lovely weather!"

The park kiosks serve hot and cold soft drinks and light snacks including pastries, toasted paninis, and ice cream (including vegan), and you can eat at dedicated outside sitting or take away.

Dogs are also catered for with free dog treats on offer and water bowl.

Alan added: "Bancroft and Howard Park are great places to welcome spring with a hot drink and perhaps a treat, whether you're taking the kids to the park or are just going for a walk."

If you're wondering about our outdoor pools, Letchworth Lido is due to reopen 24 May to 7 September, and Hitchin as below:

  • 10-23 May – cold water
  • 24 May-7 September – normal season
  • 8-21 September – cold water
