Making Standalone Farm an Educational Hub

Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation are "thrilled to share" the latest developments from Standalone Farm as they continue building their innovative educational hub in collaboration with a range of valued partners.
As part of the ResilienTogether project—led by Central Bedfordshire Council and funded by Defra—they're helping raise awareness of local flooding issues, including surface water flooding in Letchworth and riverbank overtopping in Central Bedfordshire.
Standalone is also proud to be among the first in the UK to trial Eco Detection's Ion Q+—a state-of-the-art water quality monitoring system already proven in Australia and New Zealand.
As part of a 12-month pilot scheme, this innovative system will place actionable environmental data at their fingertips.
In the coming weeks, they'll be installing innovative BioScapes® planters that combine Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG). These units manage rainwater and support wildlife habitats, contributing to cleaner waterways and a greener environment.
Stay tuned as Standalone continues their journey towards creating a SMART Farm.
