Marks & Spencer: Delays to new store opening - find out more

The opening of the new Marks & Spencer store in Stevenage has been delayed.
The company - which stopped trading in the town centre six years ago after admitting its former Queensway was not profitable - has been busy taking over the former Debenhams site at the Roaring Meg retail park.
Shoppers looking for a bargain will have to move fast as Debenhams decision to open its doors will only be a short lived move.
As Nub News reported last year, crowds queued around the block during Debenhams closing down sale prior to the store finally closing for good, back in May 2021.
And while Hitchin has a busy M&S on Bancroft in our town centre, many are excited at the prospect of a far larger store re-opening on our town's doorstep in nearby Stevenage - on the site of the former Debenhams.
However, shoppers will have to wait a little longer with the eagerly-awaited store now set to open in late April - rather than March, which had first been mooted.
The store on the Roaring Meg Retail Park, which will create around 150 roles across 10,000 square metres over two floors - and will feature a cafe and food hall.
Last year M&S had initially shared that the new store would be opening on March 16 but it is understood that the exciting new shop will now be opening its doors to the public in late April.
We can't wait!
