Hitchin Town's clash with Needham Market scheduled for Monday evening has been called off.

With Storm Alex lashing the country all weekend, including north Herts, the Fishponds Road outfit have been forced to postpone their fixture.

Mark Burke's side were looking to banish memories of the 5-0 defeat at the hands of National League South side St Albans as they crashed out of the FA Cup at the second qualifying round stage on Saturday.

However, the weather has put paid to that with the club saying: "I'm afraid that the rain has defeated us and tonight's match with Needham Market has been postponed."
