Milford Lodge Residents Create Remembrance Day Display for Local Salon Amore

Residents at Milford Lodge Care Home have been busy creating a special Remembrance Day display to thank a local business for its continued support.

Amore Salon has generously supported Milford Lodge's fundraising raffles throughout the year, and residents wanted to show their appreciation by producing artwork for the salon's Remembrance Day window display.

As part of the project, residents painted and coloured poppies in both red and purple. While the traditional red poppy commemorates those who served and sacrificed in the armed forces, the purple poppy honours the animals that also played a vital role during times of war.

The activity was particularly meaningful as B&M Care, the group to which Milford Lodge belongs, has explored the positive impact that creative arts can have on people living with dementia. With support from the home's Engagement and Wellbeing Team, as many residents as possible were encouraged to take part, helping to promote creativity, engagement, wellbeing and a sense of achievement.

Eliana & Devina the Milford Lodge Engagement Team said: "We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our fundraising raffles this year. Creating this artwork was a wonderful way for our residents to express their thanks to Amore Salon for their kindness and generosity. We were delighted to gift the poppy display for their Remembrance Day window."

Milford Lodge continues to raise funds for activities and experiences that benefit residents and is now seeking prizes and donations for its next raffle.

The residents and team at Milford Lodge would like to thank Amore Salon and all those who have supported their fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Any local businesses wishing to support the raffle, which will be held on Saturday 28 November at their Sip & Shop event , are encouraged to get in touch by emailing [email protected]. Please email in too if you would like to come to the Sip & Shop to browse at our stalls & stop for a tea/coffee & mince pie. RSVP is essential.
