🌟 Milford Lodge Teams Named Finalists at the Dementia in Care Awards

Milford Lodge is celebrating a remarkable double achievement as two dedicated teams have been announced as finalists at this year's Dementia in Care Awards. The Dementia Environment Team has been shortlisted for The Dementia Care Home Worker Award, while the Engagement Team is a finalist for the Activity Coordinator Award. Both teams will attend the prestigious ceremony on 24th June at The Hilton Bankside in London.

This recognition shines a spotlight on the exceptional care, creativity, and compassion shown every day within Milford Lodge — a 60‑bed residential care home in Hitchin, including an 18‑bed specialist dementia environment.

The Dementia Environment Team (Sycamore) has been honoured for their commitment to creating a safe, calming, and enriching space for residents living with dementia. Their work goes far beyond daily care tasks — they focus on meaningful connection, sensory comfort, and personalised support that helps residents feel grounded, valued, and understood.

From thoughtful room layouts to gentle routines and one‑to‑one engagement, the team's approach has transformed the dementia environment into a place where residents can thrive with dignity and joy.

Both teams will proudly represent Milford Lodge at the awards ceremony in June, joining fellow finalists from across the country. For staff, residents, and families alike, the nominations are a powerful reminder of the dedication and heart that define the home's culture.
