Alistair Strathern, Labour MP for Hitchin, visited weekly homeless shelter, Feed Up Warm Up, in Hitchin town centre this week – calling the work that they do "invaluable."

Mr Strathern met with the organisation's two dozen volunteers and talked with the many vulnerable, homeless people at the shelter.

Feed Up, Warm Up is a charity based at Our Lady Immaculate and St Andrew Catholic Church on Grove Road, Hitchin. Every Wednesday night, they provide a full, warm and nutritious meal for as many as 50 homeless people.

They also support with tents, sleeping bags, administrative support and, for the most vulnerable, funded hotel stays.

The charity is supported by business sponsorship and donations. Mr Strathern shared a link to donate on his social media following the visit and encourages everyone to donate what they can to support this incredible charity.

Mr Strathern said: "I was moved to visit Feed Up, Warm Up and see the amazing work that volunteers do to support the most vulnerable people in Hitchin.

"The work they do is frankly invaluable, and we must all support Feed Up Warm Up and similar homeless shelters.

"I want to see the end of homelessness and rough sleeping, here in Hitchin and across our country.

"I welcome Labour's plan to develop a new cross-government strategy, working with councils here to put Britain back on track to ending homelessness for good."
