Next Page waive profit on powerful refugee book and ask Hitchin readers to donate publication to schools
With migrants crossing the channel daily, the plight of refugees is in sharp focus.
Hitchin book store Next Page Books are waiving their profit on the tome that they believe should be required reading for all.
Speaking to Nub News, Next Page owners Liz Tye and Julie Anderson are urging readers to learn more.
"We feel really strongly that in the current climate, the courageous and empathetic book 'Boy, Everywhere' by AM Dassu, about the experience of young refugees, should be in every school library.
"Books really do have the power to change mindsets, challenge stereotypes and change the world.
"Donate now so all of our young people have the opportunity to empathise with children and young people who find themselves in this situation.
"Alongside other indie bookshops around the country, we are waiving our profit and asking local people and businesses to donate a copy at the cost of £5 which includes postage and packaging."
If you are interested why not contact Next Page via email to donate [email protected].
Schools should contact the book store via email or on social media, to request they are added to the list for a copy of the book.
