The three-storey building on the mini-roundabout before Bancroft Park is described in the appeal document as a "main throughfare" into Hitchin.

The exterior of the building had originally been red brick but the new developers had installed grey weatherboard cladding.

However, the Planning Inspectorate decided that the new look "does not harm the character or the appearance of the area and the host property".

Update on the appeal is part of the document pack for this week's (19th June) Planning Committee meeting of North Herts District Council.
