Noah and Lily most popular baby names in Hertfordshire in 2025, according to county council records

Noah and Lily were the most popular baby names in Hertfordshire in 2025, according to data released by the county council.
According to the authority, there were 7,742 births registered in the county last year, of which 3,924 were boys and 3,818 girls.
Sixty-one parents opted to call their new sons Noah, making it the most popular boys' first name in the county. And 60 parents called their new daughters Lily.
Other popular choices for boys were second-ranking Oliver, which was the choice for 49 newborns, while Luca and Freddie ranked as the third most popular after being chosen for 48 new additions each.
The county's fifth-ranking name for baby boys was Leo, of which there were 48 registered.
After Lily, Amelia was the top-ranking choice for baby girls in the county last year, being the preferred choice of 38 parents.
Meanwhile, the third-ranking choice was Sienna, opted for by 36 parents, and the fourth was Poppy, which was the chosen first name for 35 newborns.
The fifth most popular girls' name last year, according to data supplied by the county council was Ivy, which was the top choice of 34 parents.
Births across the county are registered by the Hertfordshire Registrar Services, which are managed by Hertfordshire County Council.
