North Herts Labour groups sends message after MP is stabbed

North Herts Labour Group has issued a statement following a vicious attack that killed an MP.

A Conservative MP was stabbed multiple times in an incident at his constituency surgery on Friday afternoon.

On behalf of the group, NHDC leader Elizabeth Dennis-Harburg sent a message of sympathy.

Sir David Amess, 69, who represents Southend West in Essex, was attacked on Friday afternoon at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea.

Prior to the horrific news that Sir Amess died, North Herts Labour posted: "On behalf of all North Herts Labour Group, I send our best wishes to Sir David Amess MP, his family and anyone else involved in this horrid attack.

"No-one deserves to be attacked full stop. regardless of their political beliefs."

A man walked into Sir Amess' constituency surgery and stabbed him multiple times. A man has been arrested.
