Plans lodged to build four-bedroom home in Hitchin town centre

A planning application has been posted to build a four-bedroom home in Sun Street in the heart of our town.

The plans propose to build in the car park at the rear of 9 Sun Street, which is currently occupied by Plan Burrito and the Bella Vita Hotel.

The planning application says: "The site is an under-used car park for the hotel, which previously had planning consent for four small houses.

"There are currently 35 car parking spaces. The is a good sized site, in a sustainable location, and with an opportunity to extend the public footpath.

"The basic elements of the proposed design include a new detached house with car parking and gardens at front and rear, retention of eight car parking spaces for hotel, and the extension of public footpath across width of site."
