Police appeal after red bicycle stolen in Hitchin town centre

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Hitchin town centre on Thursday evening (21st May)

The incident happened at around 6.30pm in Market Place, when a man reportedly had his red bicycle stolen by another man.

According to Hertfordshire Constabulary, the suspect made verbal threats before riding away on the bike.

Officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have information that could help their enquiries, to come forward.

Anyone with information can report it online via the Hertfordshire Constabulary website, speak to an operator through the force's online web chat service or call 101, quoting crime reference 41/47071/26.

Alternatively, people can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
