Officers have uncovered and destroyed another cannabis factory.

On Monday (April 16), Herts Police officers from the Scorpion Team, spoke with a landlord who suspected that his property was being used by the tenants to grow cannabis.

The officers met with the landlord and forced entry to the address in Welwyn Garden City. They were joined by colleagues from the East Herts Operational Support Group.

Inside, they found five rooms with mature cannabis plants and a loft growing the next batch.

The discovery comes exactly a week after the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team found a cannabis factory in Honeysuckle Gardens, Hatfield.

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Amy Sheldon said: "It is pleasing to see the significant progress we are making to tackle the local drugs supply.

"An investigation into this factory is now underway by our colleagues in the Operational Support Group and I thank them for their assistance.

"Cannabis is often associated with other criminality so it is a real focus for us. The factories themselves often pose a fire risk to the innocent neighbours around them.

"I hope the public are reassured by this news. Please remember if you have suspicions about drugs, report it to us so we can take action."
