Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault in Stevenage.

The incident occurred between 920pm and 940pm on Saturday (April 20) on Canterbury Way.

An argument between the two female victims and the suspect broke out in St Nicolas Tavern and continued into the car park where one of the victims was punched.

The fight continued outside and onto Canterbury Way where another victim was struck across the face, causing her to lose consciousness.

The victim regained consciousness and was assisted by witnesses back to the St Nicholas Tavern car park where she then lost consciousness again for a significant amount of time.

The victim sustained a cut to her lip and due to losing consciousness was taken to hospital via ambulance.

A man in his 30s has since been released on police bail while the investigation continues.

"If you believe that you have information that could help with this investigation, please email me at [email protected] with any information, thank you."
