Information sought following assault in Stevenage
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Stevenage.
The incident occurred at around 9pm on Monday, May 22.
A 25-year-old man was walking along Fairlands Way, when he was approached from behind and assaulted by two unknown males, next to the underpass at the junction with Popple Way.
The victim sustained ABH level injuries, which included his teeth being knocked out, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
His phone was also thrown to the floor and smashed during the incident.
The males are described as being white, aged between 20 and 30 years old, of average height and fairly muscular build. One was wearing a white T-shirt and had dark blond hair, the other was wearing a grey hoodie.
PC Chloe Sampford, who is investigating, said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was making his way home from work. Understandably, he has been left very shaken by what happened.
"Our enquiries are continuing at this time to trace the males involved. As part of these enquiries, we are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information which may assist us, to please come forward.
"Did you see two males in the area at the time, matching the descriptions given? Any information at all could prove key to progressing the investigation."
Anyone with information is asked to please contact PC Sampford by email at [email protected].
