TRANSMISSION – The Sound Of Joy Division (Tribute)
Club 85, Whinbush Road, Hitchin
TRANSMISSION – The Sound Of Joy Division (Tribute)
The Best of Unknown Pleasures / Closer Set & other iconic classics
Devoted to recreating the atmosphere of a live Joy Division gig, Transmission emulate the sound of one of the most inventive, evocative and influential groups of their era.
Joy Division were formed in the late 1970s and dissolved in May 1980 after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. The remaining members went on to form New Order and have achieved much critical and commercial success.
The influence of Joy Division, however, was far reaching. They were considered the pioneering band of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Forty years on you can still relive the dark, cavernous sound of Joy Division through Transmission, the UKs number one Joy Division tribute act.
Doors: 7.45pm
Tickets: £12 +

Structural Stories: The history of six North Herts buildings
Structural Stories: The history of six North Herts buildings
Until August 6
Across the last 18 months, our Museum and Town Hall's Digital Apprentice has searched our photographic archives for a social media series highlighting some of her favourite local buildings. Reaching the Museum's followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the series generated much interest and lots of sharing of memories.
This exhibition celebrates the history of our local area and brings some highlights of Ellen's social media campaign back into the physical museum, helping to reach those visitors who are not active online or who missed the campaign the first time around.
This exhibition has been curated by Ellen Munson and is located in The Arches, part of the Terrace Gallery.
