Witness appeal after robbery in Stevenage

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a robbery in Stevenage.

The incident occurred at around 6.48am on Thursday (December 14) on Bedwell Crescent.  

It is reported that a man, who was in possession of a knife, threatened a member of staff inside McColl's newsagents, and demanded cash was handed over. 

The suspect then left the scene with an amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 5ft 8in to 6ft tall and of slim to medium build. He was described as wearing a grey hooded top, black jogging bottoms, a face covering and a dark beanie hat. He was also carrying a blue plastic bag. 

Detective Constable Darren Lomax, from the Stevenage Local Crime Unit, said: "Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.

"If you live nearby and have CCTV or a doorbell camera fitted, please check it as you may have recorded some crucial footage to assist our investigation. If you have any information, please contact me at [email protected]."
