Police launch appeal after 25-year-old man arrested following knife incident outside Letchworth McDonalds

A 25 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and being in possession of an offensive weapon in North Herts.

Police have launched an information and witnesses appeal following an incident in Letchworth last weekend.

Officers say that around 830pm on Friday (September 24) an altercation took place between a man and another man and woman outside McDonalds on Avenue One.

It was reported one man made threats and was in possession of a knife.

PC Eleri Clarke, who is investigating, said: "If you witnessed this incident or possibly have dash cam footage of it, if you were in the vicinity with your vehicle, then I'd like to hear from you.

"If you are able to help I can be contacted directly via email at [email protected]"

If you have information call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/74434/21.

A 25 year old man has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
