A popular Hitchin pub has been busy gearing up to reopen next week as lockdown eases.[.L]

The Victoria on Ickleford Road, along with hospitality venues across Hitchin, north Herts and the rest of the UK are still currently closed as part of the national lockdown.

However, light is at the end of the tunnel because restaurants and pub gardens will be allowed to serve customers sitting outdoors - including alcohol - from next week.

Customers will be able to meet in groups of up to six people from different households, and a maximum of two households can meet to form a group of any size.

The Vic is no different, and has announced that it will be reopening from Tuesday afternoon.

Posting on their official Instagram account the much-loved said: "We are pleased to announce that we REOPEN Tuesday April 13 at 4pm."
