Popular Hitchin pub launches pop-up!

By Layth Yousif 3rd Apr 2021

A popular Hitchin pub that has been gearing up to reopen has launched a pop-up shop!

The Half Moon on Queen Street have called their pop-up shop @yourbitontheside.

The pub run by Freddy and Emily posted the news on their Instagram page.

They wrote: "During lockdown when takeaway beers were okay we started our Alphabet boxes. These were more popular then we could have ever expected and always sold out within an hour each week.

"We really enjoyed making them and had fun taste testing new quirky beers for you all to try.

"When government restrictions were announced that takeaway alcohol couldn't be done from pubs we were gutted!

"Behind closed doors Freddy and myself started throwing around ideas of how we could continue and extend our takeaway options when we could eventually open."

Landlady Emily's dad and handyman extraordinaire, helped them build their own little pop up shop at the front of the pub - which is now known as @yourbitontheside and will be opening very soon along side the pub.

They added: "We will be stocking local beers, craft cans, wines and hopefully some local spirits. You will also be able to bring your bottles down to be filled up with delicious cask and craft beers as well."

Get in touch with Freddie and Emily if you have any suggestions or would like to let them know of beers you may like.
