Residents in Hitchin are being invited to attend a public meeting later this month to discuss ongoing concerns surrounding the waste site in the town's industrial area.

The meeting will take place on Friday 24 April at 6.45pm at Holy Saviour Church, and is expected to bring together members of the community, local representatives and officials.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from their local MP - Alistair Strathern - and councillors, who are due to be present for the discussion.

The focus of the meeting will be the findings of a recently completed Health Impact Assessment, commissioned to better understand the potential effects of the waste site on residents living nearby.

Concerns around the industrial area site have been raised by members of the community in recent months, with questions over environmental and health impacts prompting further investigation.

Organisers say the meeting will provide an important opportunity for residents to hear the latest findings, ask questions, and engage directly with decision-makers about next steps.

Local people affected by the issue, or those with an interest in the outcome, are encouraged to attend.
