Pupils from Hitchin Boys' School raise incredible £1,000 to boost National Autistic Society on Eat One Colour Day

By Layth Yousif 1st Nov 2022

Pupils from a Hitchin secondary school have raised an incredible £1,000 for a great cause.

On Saturday, seven lads from Year 8 at Hitchin Boys' School created their own fundraiser for the National Autistic Society's 'Eat One Colour Day'.

The boys all picked a colour from the rainbow - the accepted emblem that represents those with this spectrum condition - and only ate foods relating to the specific colour they chose.

The big-hearted boys said: "We have friends and brothers with this condition so we thought this was a fun way of showing our support.

"We can't believe we've raised over £1,000 already".

James Firth, who organised the event, added: "The funniest part has been watching my mum eat blue porridge at breakfast.

"She can't even have a coffee. It's so funny".
