Residents are being invited to enjoy an evening of outdoor theatre by the River Hiz this summer as Shakespeare from the Riverside comes to Hitchin on Saturday , June 27.

The event, part of the Hitchin Festival programme, will be performed by The Living Theatre and feature a specially curated selection of scenes from some of William Shakespeare's best-loved plays.

Organisers say the production follows a hugely successful run in a neighbouring town, with the theatre company now bringing its "one-of-a-kind performance" to the heart of Hitchin beside the River Hiz.

The relaxed outdoor event will run on a "pay what you decide" basis, allowing audiences to contribute what they feel the performance is worth.

Visitors are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and rugs, making it a family-friendly summer evening in the park.

The performance is sponsored by NatWest Hitchin and Jones Hunt Keelings.
