On average, kitchens last about 15 years, and the trend in Hitchin is towards open-plan designs that create what Mark calls "the hub of the house."

3. Save money with smart energy choices

As colder weather sets in, it's also worth considering improvements that reduce energy bills. Technologies such as solar panels and air-source heat pumps can help households avoid rising costs for gas and oil while making homes more sustainable.
