Here are our top picks for the coming days:
1. Kipps: the new Half a Sixpence musical
Hitchin Thespians present Kipps – the New Half a Sixpence Musical.
The perfect show for lovers of classic musicals, this version has a new script by Julian Fellowes.
As well as the beloved songs from the original such as Flash, Bang, Wallop! and If the Rain's Got to Fall, there are vibrant new numbers from the team of Stiles and Drewe, all performed by a live band. Kipps has everything you need from a musical – barnstorming ensemble numbers, twists and turns of fate, a loveable hero, a gallery of comic characters – and just a touch of romance!
Evening performances are at 7.30 with a matinee at 2.30 on Saturday 15th June.
2. Euros
Looking for somewhere to watch the Euros this weekend?
Whether you're planning on cheering on England on Sunday (June 16) or want to watch the opening game on Friday, why not head to Molly Malones?
And best of all - the community pub is running a number of matchday specials for the opening of the tournament this weekend.
3. With The Beatles
With The Beatles are coming to Hitchin Town Hall on Friday 14 June, bringing a selection of the Fab Four's classics.
With The Beatles have worked with such artists as Midge Ure (Live Aid Ultravox) Tony Visconti (David Bowie / Marc Bolan) Neil Finn (Crowded House) and Mary Hopkin (as produced by Sir Paul McCartney himself!) not to mention Morrisey and Nancy Sinatra amongst a host of others.
The group have a full repertoire of all the Beatles' most famous songs; from early tracks such as Please Please Me and Love Me Do through to Rubber Soul and Revolver classics like Nowhere Man and Paperback Writer right up to the likes of the seminal Hey Jude.
