Families across North Hertfordshire are being invited to hop into Easter fun at Standalone Farm, where a packed programme of activities promises a memorable holiday for children and adults alike.

From newborn lambs and hands-on animal encounters to a digital planetarium and glitter-filled princess parties, the popular family attraction has lined up a range of experiences throughout the Easter break.

Lambing season returns to the farm

One of the highlights of the Easter visit will be the chance to see newborn lambs in a real working farm environment.

Farm staff say lambing is one of the most special times of year, but they emphasise that the farm takes a careful approach to animal welfare. Lambs are kept with their mothers and allowed to feed naturally wherever possible.

Visitors often ask whether they can bottle-feed the lambs, but the farm only intervenes when necessary – for example if a ewe has multiple lambs or if a lamb has been rejected. This approach forms part of the Triple A animal welfare scheme, an industry-led code promoting the highest standards of care.

Passholders can book special lambing sessions from £3 per ticket, with options ranging from front-row viewing to VIP pen-side access.

Exotic animals and space adventures

The Easter programme also includes Educational Encounters: Easter Gone Wild, running from 30 March to 3 April.

Children will be able to meet a range of unusual creatures – including lizards, mini-beasts and other exotic animals – in interactive sessions led by the farm's specialist handler.

From 6–10 April, the farm will also host the Standalone Planetarium Experience, where young explorers can step inside a 360-degree digital planetarium and journey into outer space through immersive shows designed to combine learning with entertainment.

Princess parties and Easter surprises

The celebrations continue with the Enchanted Barn Party, taking place over the Easter weekend (Friday to Monday) and again on 11–12 April in the farm's Party Barn.

Children can join fairy princesses for an hour of glitter, bubbles, music and games, while parents can relax with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.

Across the Easter holidays, visitors can also enjoy face painting, fairground rides, Easter egg hunts and surprise appearances from the Easter Bunny.

Passholders will benefit from a number of extras during the break, including discounted food and drink in the Greenway Café, reduced prices in the gift shop and lower event ticket costs.

Standalone Farm says the Easter programme aims to give families the chance to celebrate spring, learn about animals responsibly and create lasting memories together.
