Meeting the team at Hitchin Lyndhurst Financial Management

Lyndhurst Financial Management is a well-established name in the financial services industry, recently recognised as an Associate Firm of the Personal Finance Society (PFS). But beyond its professional reputation, Lyndhurst is also firmly rooted in the Hitchin community—as anyone who visited the recent Beer & Cider Festival can attest.
Hitchin Nub News caught up with Kaila Evans-Peters (21) and Jack Ephgrave (37) at Lyndhurst's Bridge Street office to learn more about their journeys so far with the team.
Both work as Paraplanners—perhaps not a job title everyone is familiar with. In essence, Paraplanners support financial advisers by handling technical analysis, research, and administrative tasks that underpin the financial planning process.
Kaila and Jack have both recently completed their Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning with the support of the company.
Jack joined Lyndhurst following roles at LV and in other sectors, making his move something of a career change.
Kaila, meanwhile, sent her CV directly to the firm after finishing her A-levels at Hitchin Girls' School.
Jack explained that it took him around two years to earn the diploma while balancing work and family life—including caring for his two children. Kaila, on the other hand, powered through the qualification in just eight months.
She admitted that she initially expected the world of finance to resemble The Wolf of Wall Street, but what she found instead was a close-knit, community-focused firm. Many of Lyndhurst's clients come through word of mouth or family recommendations.
Kaila spoke about how many people don't realise the value of financial advice, while Jack highlighted that even those with modest savings or investments can benefit from the company's popular "financial MOT"—a great starting point for what could become a long-term financial planning journey.
So, what's next for Kaila and Jack?
Though their paths to Lyndhurst were different, both are looking ahead to stepping into more client-facing advisory roles as their careers develop. And what advice do they have for others considering a move into the financial services sector?
"There are always opportunities," Kaila said. "It's well worth dropping your CV in."
