🌼 Spring in Full Bloom: Residents Create Beautiful Spring Planters
Residents at Milford Lodge Care Home welcomed the new season in the most joyful way — by rolling up their sleeves and taking part in a hands‑on spring planter workshop. Led by Sarah Maylin Flowers. The session brought a burst of colour, fragrance, and fresh energy into the home.
🌷 A Creative Start to Spring
The workshop began with a gentle introduction to planting techniques arranging the plants in a balanced, eye‑catching display. Residents experimented with violas, daffodils, hyacinths, and seasonal foliage, each choosing colours and textures that spoke to them.
The room quickly filled with chatter and laughter as residents compared ideas, shared memories of gardens they once tended, and proudly showed off their growing creations.
For many, the simple act of planting brought a sense of calm and familiarity. One resident commented, "It feels wonderful to get my hands in the soil again. It reminds me of my old garden."
🌻 Growing More Than Flowers
Beyond the beautiful results, the workshop offered something even more meaningful: connection, confidence, and a shared sense of achievement.
The Engagement Team Eliana Ferraris & Devina Kutowaroo said
"Activities like these continue to play an important role in supporting wellbeing, sparking conversation, and bringing joy to everyday life in our home."
