Steve Evans reign as Stevenage manager starts today, (Saturday, March 26) and fans expectations are high as the former Gillingham manager takes his team down to Exeter.

But what can we expect from the experienced coach?

Nub News Stevenage FC writer Owen Rodbard gives us three reasons why he thinks Evans will be a hit at Boro.

1) Experience: His defensive abilities as a coach have been on show at all his previous clubs. Some of which will be much needed at Boro after a terrible defensive display this season. He will add defensive solidity that we've missed this campaign. Building from the back is key in Evans' style of play so expect a defensive style of play against the teams at the top of the table.

2) Passion: Evans' first interview with the club was definitely something to admire. He spoke well and with clear intentions on how he wants his team to play. He mentioned that the team under Tisdale wasn't lacking effort, so we can expect to see every player leaving their all out on the pitch under the former Gillingham manager.

3) The ability to 'see out' games: Too many times this season Boro have given away leads in added time. It's almost become an expectation that we concede in extra time this season. With Evans this unfortunate mishap will not be a problem. His tactical prowess will see us thorough games and should push us to survival.
