Stevenage: Tory MP Stephen McPartland reveals he won't stand at next election in bid to seek new opportunities

Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland has announced that he will not be standing at the next General Election.

Mr McPartland MP posted a message on his official Twitter account on Monday, (February 13) revealing a letter he sent to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirming he would not be seeking re-election.

In the letter to PM Mr McPartland MP said: "It has been the biggest honour of my life to serve as the member of Parliament for Stevenage since 2010, but after much soul-searching, I have decided not to seek reselection in order to take up new opportunities outside of politics."
