Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident at King George V playing fields in Stevenage.

On Monday 1 May, a group of males were reportedly involved in two separate physical altercations between 120pm and 140pm. The first occurred near the entrance at Popple Way and the second next to the underpass opposite the swimming pool.

Three people sustained injuries during the incidents - a teenager, and a man and a second teenage boy both sustained broken bones.

An extensive search was carried out, with assistance from the police helicopter and two people were subsequently arrested in connection with the investigation. A third person was arrested the following day.

Investigator Tara Adams-Cook, from the Local Crime Unit, said: "This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. At this time, we are treating the incidents as linked and our enquiries are continuing.

"As part of the investigation, I am appealing for any witnesses who haven't yet spoken to police to please come forward. I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any footage of the incident, or of a group of males in the area around the time.

"If you can help, please get in touch. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, you can give information through Crimestoppers."

Anyone with information is asked to please contact [email protected]
