The fundraising organisation Helping Herts has launched a bumper activity guide with over 300 ideas for action packed days out in Herts, from parks and nature trails, to skate parks, splash parks, inspirational itineraries for days out, free and low cost activities, and much more.

The guide contains insider tips from bloggers such as @mumsguidetohitchin, @livinghertfordshire,@wearestalbans, @theworldandrosie, @berkhamstedherts @kidsinhertsbedsandbucks and @mark_and_willowdog, on their favourite days out in Herts.

There is also a selection of unique Herts themed colouring in sheets created by local artists including @DantheScribbler, @rebecca_heselton; @katiehounsomeillustrator, @lettersbyel, @kim.prints, @betty_illustration, @seagreentangerine, @jen_roffe, @samboscribbles and @frankies_doodles, which can be printed out and coloured in.

The guide has been launched as part of Helping Herts Week (4 – 8 July), to celebrate everything that is good about Hertfordshire; from the excellent local attractions on our doorstep and the diverse range of businesses, to the charities and individuals who go the extra mile for their communities.

The guide can be downloaded for a donation, with all the proceeds going to 12 children's charities across Hertfordshire, all of whom provide vital funds to support the health and wellbeing of children in Herts.

The charities set to benefit include:

• Coram Life Education

• Carers in Herts

• Herts Young Homeless

• For Baby's Sake

• Herts Mind Network

• Grove Cottage

• Riding for the Disabled

• Home Start Herts

• Phoenix Group for Deaf Children & Adults

• PlaySkill

• The Ollie Foundation

• NSPCC

Helping Herts is sponsored by Stort Valley Rotary club with support from the wider Rotary family.

Founder of Helping Herts, Gordon Morrison said: "We have a wonderful selection of green spaces in Hertfordshire and are lucky to have a selection of beautiful towns to explore - all less than an hour away from London.

"We hope you enjoy the guide and it inspires you to get out and enjoy all that Hertfordshire has to offer. Please donate to the campaign and help us to raise vital funds to support the children's charities involved in this campaign – all the charities set to benefit will be so grateful for your support."
