Drugs and weapons have been seized by police teams in Stevenage following, another week of action in the fight against drug crime in the town.

Between Tuesday, September 5 and Friday, September 8, officers from the Stevenage Scorpion Team, Neighbourhood Team, Operational Support Group and response teams, executed seven warrants at addresses in Wisden Road, Broadwater Crescent, Hyde Green, Foxfield, Hadwell Close, Homestead Moat and Colestrete Close.

Class A and B drugs were seized, along with a sword and a hunting knife at one address.

Three local males have been arrested for drug, weapon and proceeds of crime offences and investigations continue.

Detective Inspector Nick Rega said: "Our work to tackle drug related crime is ongoing and we will continue to target those who commit drug related crime in our town.

"The information we receive from members of the public is invaluable to us and I want to reassure local residents that we look into every report we receive. We may not always act on this intelligence immediately, as it could form part of a bigger investigation we are working on, but please keep it coming."
