Were you delayed at the weekend on the A602 driving between Hitchin and Stevenage: Here's why

The A505 is the main road that connects Hitchin to Stevenage and vice versa - and as regular motorists in our town know all too well, the route can become quite busy, especially during rush-hour.

However, drivers on Saturday lunchtime may have been forgiven for wondering just why their journey between the two North Herts towns was delayed.

Hitchin Nub News spoke to Herts Police in a bid to ascertain just why there were delays.

Officers told us: "Police were alerted at just after 12pm on Saturday (25 March) to a broken down vehicle on Stevenage Road, which was causing some delays.

"Officers attended the scene and the vehicle was recovered. The road was cleared by 1250pm."
